Purpose of study

The schemes of work, in Art & Design have been designed to give a wide breadth of study, in terms of knowledge and technique. The techniques and skills cover a range of media in 2D and 3D work. At the same time, the pupils are exposed to works of other artists, craftspeople, photographers and designers of the present and the past and from other cultures. Students at Madani Girls School, produce a wide range of work in a variety of media. All students study Art and Design at KS3 each week. Students typically experience painting, drawing, group work, print work, T- shirt designs and other graphic materials, textiles, and three-dimensional media including construction. All students are encouraged and inspired to develop their knowledge and understanding of studied themes and projects and apply this to their own work.
