What are Madani staff looking for?

For PE to be effective, teachers are looking for you to:

  • participate
  • compete
  • be included
  • demonstrate an understanding of health and well-being

In order to do this we aim to develop:

  • Friendship
  • Excellence
  • Respect
  • Courage
  • Determination
  • Equality
  • Inspiration

Key stage 3

At KS 3 students will be taught a range of activities that include: athletics, badminton, basketball, cricket, football, gymnastics, outdoor adventurous activities, rounders and rugby (touch rugby in Year 7 through to full contact rugby). Students work on developing skills and practices through modified games to being able to play the full recognised version of the game. As well as developing as a performer, the student will also develop as a coach, manager and an official.

Key stage 4

At KS4 students will focus on becoming an advanced performer and competing more in a number of activities that will include: athletics, badminton, basketball, football and gymnastics. Students will have a choice of cricket and/or rounders for a striking/fielding activity.

As well as becoming more advanced as a performer, each student will have the opportunity to work in other roles such as a coach, manager and an official.

You can help your child by ensuring that they maintain a strong sense of personal organisation in order that they have the appropriate kit for all lessons, embed a healthy eating programme at home and participate together in an active lifestyle.

Key dates:

Students will have an opportunity to take part in extracurricular activities. These are advertised in school via the form tutors as well as the PE noticeboard. Parents will normally receive a letter from the teacher leading the activity regarding any competitions/events that are taking place at ‘away’ venues.
